Architecture Process: Phase Two

SCHEMATIC DESIGN

Following an approval of the broad concepts presented during Phase 01, our team will refine the massing of the home. The schematic design process will shape the residence's overall form while simultaneously developing a workable set of floor plans. These drawings will grow to define room sizes and will include locations of significant utilities and amenities. Concurrently, the exterior elevations of the project are developed to the point of producing a detailed rendering of the future residence.

WHAT TO EXPECT

A second diagrammatic presentation will reintroduce the client to the proposed project solutions and further explain why the massing and aesthetics of the project were arrived at. Additionally, the client can expect to see floor plans, black and white vignettes (showing various highlights of the design) and a photorealistic rendering of the proposed design.

WHAT WE NEED

Since the schematic design phase concludes with a photorealistic rendering, it is important that we have a strong understanding of your aesthetic preferences before proposing exterior material selectons. While this is often understood from conversations during the first phase, sometimes it is not. If this is the case, we will present you with a presentation of project references to comment on. Studying these precedents is a quick way for us to understand your families personal preferences.

THE OPEN CORNER

The schematic design phase concludes with a photorealistic rendering of proposed residence. These renderings show the homeowner how the architectural concepts merge with material selection and aesthetics.
